If I Die First Poem by Makhosonke Dhlamini

If I Die First

If I die first, I'll kill the sting of death
With memories that forever breathe
I'll lay the carpet of white roses
To crown your with  love
If I die first, I'll let my veins sing
As violins in the arms of time
Where melody forever chimes.
