If I Die Before You Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

If I Die Before You

My love, if I should die before thee
Do not weep or shed a single tear
For in death, my spirit shall be free
And I will watch over you, forever near
In this life, our love was so true
But death cannot break the bond we share
For even in the grave, I'll be with you
A love like ours, nothing can compare
Though my body may lay in a cold tomb
My soul will still be by your side
Guiding you through joy and darkest gloom
With love and light that will never hide
So fear not, my love, if I pass away
For in death, our love will forever stay.
