I think I do better by myself
The intoxicating sense of self determination
Of being my own agent
Unlimited by someone else's opinion or agenda

I think I do better alone
Heading out on another of my daily adventures
Not knowing where I will end up
Uninhibited by another's well-intended expectations, hopes, or dreams

Yet here you are
Occupying my heart
Setting up shop
Making this house your home

Shall I continue to wander and doubt
The certainty of your love

Or might I start singing a new song
Not just to myself
But to your spirit rising in me

Your kinship
Heartfelt oneness
Clarity of mind

The two of us
Speaking and listening
In a language
Without words

I am pretty sure I know who you are
Sneaking into my heart like you did

You animated the universe
And the universe has never stopped singing
This song called you

I am, you sing, vast oceans of love
And all the beaches and cliffs that surround them

Now, I look around and see you everywhere
You are the most beautiful
Shimmering grain of sand on the beach
The most brilliant
Radiant yellow flower of mustard
On the seaside hills in spring
You are everything and more

I see you
You are the space between here and now

Wow!

When I know myself to be
That same divine spirit as you
I see myself
In the light in your eyes
