Ice And Steam Poem by Paul Hartal

Ice And Steam

Once, the Octopus came to visit
the Porcupine.

"Come and join me for some ice tea",
said the host to his guest.

"Thank you", said the octopus with a smile,
"but if you come over to my place,
I will serve you real tea: steaming hot."

"Well", said the Porcupine, "although steam
and ice look radically different, as they are
distinct aggregate phases of water,
they are still made of the same molecules
of hydrogen and oxygen."

"Well, I know this", said the Octopus.
"However, the chemical composition
of water cannot explain
the difference between
the taste of ice tea and hot tea."
