Ice Poem by Dr Vidya Hariharan

Ice

Rating: 5.0

Love, loss, death, sorrow,
Belief, mockery, hunger,
Laughter, trust, happiness,
Birthdays, Promotions,
Engagements, Marriages,
Divorces, bravery, victory,
Tears, banter, irony,
Joy, peace, sarcasm,
Anger, madness, poverty:
Nothing good or nice,
Nothing bad or vile,
Seeps through indifference,
My heart encased in ice.

Indifference…."Varagiyam" in Sanskrit, that is free from ‘raagam', affinity towards anything…. It is said in Mahabharata that Vidura chose his death (after his life's mission fulfilled) by total abstinence, even from food and water.. top score, dear poet
