I'am Home Poem by David Cleveland

I'am Home

I'm Home
Since my wife passed, I can't wait to get home.
My wife is there waiting; she says I'll never be alone.
Dinner is ready, but there's only one plate.
She says she was starving, so she went ahead and ate.
Soon, it was dark, and it was time to go to bed.
While we were lying there, she turned to me and said.
She said, ' Honey, I love you. I don't want you to ever be alone.
She said. Just take my hand, so that we can go home.
I told her that we are home, lying in bed.
She said the night of the wreck, we were both pronounced dead.
