I Write Poem by Dr. Madan Gandhi

I Write

I write of common anguish and travail
every one is born with
his/her capacity to confront and prevail

I write of perennial universal truths
of love, honour, compassion and sacrifice
of deathless of spirit that stands unvanquished

The worst has been spoken and heard
a curse hangs on our planet
ominous shadows closing in

Above all I write of faith and hope
when the last dingdong of doom has clanged
snapped the link with the sky’s burnt out rope.
