The first read... and wordsworth came to mind with his nature sonnet THE WORLD IS TOO MUCH WITH US...where he laments over the shortage of time in man's life to enjoy the beauty of nature, he wishes exactly in the same vein in his times as you wished now: Great God! I'd rather be A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn; So might I, standing on this pleasant lea, Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn; Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea; Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn.
