I Wish You Knew Me Well Poem by Arun Maji

I Wish You Knew Me Well

Rating: 5.0

I wish you knew me well
Knew my heart, knew my soul.
I wish you knew them
Really well.

I truly wish
You knew my pain, my dream,
My despair, my laughter.
For I don't know them.
I really don't know them.

I don't know
Why my heart longs for your presence,
My soul cries for your caress.
I don't know. I really don't know.

See, I am still a child.
I get lost everywhere.
In open sky, in lonely mountain.
In flowing river.
I can't help myself.
Mystery of this universe is so compelling
I really can't help myself.

I have spoken to birds
They would sing my pain to you.
For I know not
How to sing an achy heart's pain.

Look, look at my heart
It's achy, really achy.
I don't know why.
Why?
You know. Don't you?
