It sounds here as if you have a very good friendship with someone. Notwithstanding our failures and weaknesses, true friends are behind us, and they often see the sun where others only see the snake in us. However, toward the end of the poem - I may be mistaken - it seems you experience some falling out with that friend, and some anger remains. Perhaps there's a conflict of interests.
