I Wish To Believe In Rebirth Poem by Wangchat konyak

I Wish To Believe In Rebirth

do not believe in rebirth,
For I, a mortal, know this truth —
A body, once buried,
Decomposes to be part of the earth
And through that decay, enriches
The fertility of the soil,
Then, either a grass or plants
Blooms from it.
But, then, when I,
I felt in love with you,
I knew, I can never reach you,
For you belong to a far-off land,
A country distance from mine
And in between lies a barrier —
A many borders fence.
Knowing this, I realized,
In this lifetime,
You can never be mine,
Regardless of how deep our love.
Alas, if in reality, rebirth do takes place,
I yearn to believe upon it,
For in another life,
I wish to be born in your Isle,
And be with you, my love.
