So long this road I have walked;
With so many strangers I have talked.
So many mountains I have climbed;
And yet one desire lingers in my mind.
In empty lands with no one there;
I have walked where the land is bare.
In forests dead and burnt black;
I have gone too far to turn back.
Time seems to slip away fast;
Through empty streets I have passed.
Over the icy mountains snowy chill;
And yet I have not found it still.
My desire lingers into;
A burning longing to continue.
To journey until I find;
The thought blazing in my mind.
I would wander ev'ry dark place;
Just to return to your embrace.
To feel you close, to hear you sing;
To laugh and smile: you are my ev'rything.
We will dance and sing again;
With you close I need no other friend.
Until the world fades entirely;
I will seek to find you untiringly.
Until the stars from heaven fall;
And in darkest night; the end of all.
In all I say, in ev'rything I do;
I will never forget you.
