As a child, I adored Greek mythology. You have honoured these two in this lovely poem! Achilles, hero of Homer's ILIAD. Athena, goddess of careful & thoughtful warfare. P.S: Nix to Achilles' armour. It had a vulnerable heel, remember?
I shall thread my heels in golden twine. Though I doubt an arrow to the heel would kill me, but it sounds awfully painful.

The heralds are trumpeting, the horns sound gay and bright, on the altar a cup of wine, forgiveness of all sin, in the tranquil hush of night Achilles enters in......so touching and impressive. Beautifully penned. Thanks for sharing.
