The only question is, why do kids have to study 'Hamlet' rather than 'Horton'? Hmm, the only thing is..... turns out I STILL prefer 'Horton'. Of course, I've been reading a lot of Dr. Seuss lately. My sister's grandkids can't get enough of him, and he always has an edifying message. I loved this poem. Lovexx, Will

Mary, this is a great story and tribute! I see Gina mentioned 'Green Eggs and Ham' which was written using only 50 different words on a bet between Theodor Seuss Geisel and his publisher. -chuck

Oh wow! I loved Dr Seuss! ! ! Must admit though I don't remember wondering what kind of Doctor he was... which is odd as I normally wonder that kind of thing! Anyway this is a lovely poem, Moyaxxx

At 30, Mary 'Green Eggs and Ham' still rings in my ears. And yes, at 6 I too wondered what a doctor was doing writing rhymes instead of healing the sick. I also wondered who would pick such a silly and unusual surname for him or herself! Lovely Dr Seuss (who was a woman, no?) and lovely you for creating such a delightful tribute. 9 marks. Warm regards, Gina.

He's the man for kids Mary. His rhymes also have a very good messages in them. Moira and I have spent many hours enjoying his work. Rusty
