They were bubble like
And they broke before
I were to hold them like a child.

Yesterday always seems a fleeting moment, especially the childhood days, since we were then not well equipped with the intellectual insight we have now acquired over years. Moreover, when we live a carefree life, time seem to sky-rocket with great velocity. Loved reading it.

Longing for yesteryears, which cannot be relived which we all yearn for at some point of time, very nicely expressed. Reference to loss of mother in early childhood is indeed poignant. Thanks for share.

I think most of us feel like this as we get older - we yearn for our lost youth and for all those experiences which become just memories. A very thoughtful poem, full of longing.

Yesterdays - fallen petals Today the dew is fresh Tomorrows - mysteries to unravel Beyond, why should we rush..? Even as we sit on an arm chair of memories, the sands are running out and I guess it is imp that we pay due attention to this living moment too. Good poem, took me back in time......

There is only one yesterday and even that we cannot get it back. Let alone yesterday of yesterday of yesterday...I can understand how much one misses mother. Thank you for sharing the feelings.

Thank you all my friends for your comments... In my time machine I cannot travel to my yesterdays and the flight would, if it were ever to be there, be with a higher purpose to serve I think.

a v nice write Sir...yes we al are longing for yesterdays.........but I feel Geetha has rightly pointed out that even today is going to be an yesterday few years later........so I feel the time is still on for us, enjoy and live life to the fullest and do whatever you could not do or wanted to do, so that there is no guilt or repentance later when we sit back and think of our past.......... you have penned this poem very beautifully...........the ice cream para is v captivating

My yesterdays were like ice-cream That melted in my cup Before I could taste it. Beautiful analogy! The longing of one who lost his mother at an early age and thereby lost the bliss of childhood! !

Beautiful poem. Can anyone bring yesterday back. Even today is going to be the yesterday after years later. Some memories are so fresh like ice cream, we can still relish it thinking of those, though it was melted at that time. Even today is going to be the memories for tomorrow. Though we are busy with other works, something which bring happiness on our way, may last like a bubble only. But these bubble like memories will long laster. You have penned it very well. Loved reading it.
