I Want It Now Lord but I Trust You More Poem by chize ryan ogunkah

I Want It Now Lord but I Trust You More

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
Riding with the princes of life
A home, a heart and a hearth
Porridge in my dainty plate
With spices from Arabia to Zambia

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
A bed to lay my head
From feathers, wool or straw
A few winter days than more
And more colourful spells in a year

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
A friend in troubled times
A foe to know my zone (own)
A future to dream again
And a flutist to hum my praise

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
A staying rainbow in the sky
Some rain for lily, Simba and I
Sunlight in the package deal
And good earthlings to share these with

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
Some wind to tide me along
From Purley to Port Harcourt
To feel (breathe) the warmth of yon
Like the days when life was pure

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
To awake to the golden sun
Pigeons to bear my tale
A horse for hasty trips
And a camel to smell the roses

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
A son to call my own
And lass that's mine to rock
From Yours to my desire
And a clan that's just my own

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
Some earnest applauds in the crowd
Of angels here on earth
That greets my sweat (toils) with regard
And etch my name in time (the annals)

I want it now Lord
But I trust You more
A storm to know I'm alive
Even with windsnap here and there
(some) flood to sweep the swines
And the calm to know You (Lord) are there
