When your kohl-black eyes
open the misty morning doors
and drooling dew-drops land
on the lap of verdant bamboo leaves
sparkling like polished pearls,
I think of you…
When the first grain of virgin rain
kisses the smiling petals of blushing red roses.
When a cluster of water-lilies blossom
in a lucent pond smothered by amorous buzzing bees
and when the mauve morning glories
croon serenades of love,
I think of you…
When the gentle wild wind
drenches my feverish cheeks
with the cool caress of her breezy lips.
When sky and sea blend together like lovers
in the mahogany horizon afar.
When the stars light up the dark skies and
moon peeps shyly from the spangled evening-veil
I think of you…
While my mind weaves
your immaculate image
I bathe in the attar
of jasmine flowers tucked in
the darkness of your silky tresses,
whispering thy name in wilderness
I think of you…
