I Sold My Dream Poem by Tulsi Shrestha

I Sold My Dream

I sold my own dream
For the future of my children.
I feel proud to say
My son and daughter are in abroad.
Earning millions and playing with billions
But other side of coin that no one has seen
That is so painful and mesirable.
Me here, alone without due care
Even in such old age
Fighting with fatal, irrecoverable disease
Counting my last days.
I share my pain with pet
With whom I play
A few calls from son and daughter
That really make my day.
With welled up tears in my eyes
I do recall love of late husband
Who can't tolerate even a single drop of
Tears in my dim eyes.
We both have laboured eighteen hours a day
And invested almost all
For their prosperity and future.
Waiting for them to realise
Their responsibilities for parents.
Now, I am really irritated with
The sentence like
My son is in America, Daughter is in Australia.

It is true story of an widow who sold her dream
For the future of her children.
