I Sing Umuakum

Rating: 5.0

Umuakum
The pride of my identity
Umbrella of congenial Assembly
You are
The minicam eyes of Ejemekwuru
Molded with men and women
Of professional prowess

Umuakum
You are the rock of Ejemekwuru
Enfolded by Oguta L.G
Conglomerate of versatile land
Sharpened with fingers tilling the soil
You are
The food basket of Ejemekwuru

Umuakum
Land of taciturn unity
Blowing trumpet of greatness
You are the match-box of tradition
Cynosure of cultural affinity
Harmony of catholicism and religious assembly

Umuakum
Land of oil
Deprived of oil

Umuakum
You are a power steering civilization
Cemented by accelerated youthful dexteriity

O! Umuakum
Reminiscent land of my forefathers
You are a lamb
With a humble beginning
Blessed by God

The pride of my identity. The poet is proud of where he hails from. A kind of ethnocentric acceptance of his identity.
