I Shall See You Again Poem by Christina Pink

I Shall See You Again

I write this as I go;
I had to go and I cannot come.
And I may not come but I shall come,
As long as the trees planted by me live under the sun.

With ticking time and nothing to give,
I give my forgiveness and blessings to all beings.
Don't cry when you miss me;
Don't cry when you hate me.

I planted a gorgeous tree in the world,
It shall grow and flower for very long.
Live as long and as happy as possible then,
Because until the tree lives, I shall come.

Don't cry O Broken webs and vines!
Don't cry O Broken steps of heaven!
I shall follow you around from now on;
From misery to relief, from pain to joyfulness,
Wherever is your nest, I shall play next.

I have to go this time,
With you this was a happy life;
So many things undone,
So many promises unkept;
Now, promise me you shan't cry over them!

Forget them sadly
And forget me happily,
For this is my wish I continue my journey to heaven.

P.S. This is not goodbye, I shall see you on the other side

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
If one day you wake up to learn that you shall leave this world in a moment or two, what shall you do? With much to say and nothing to speak of, I shall write this poem for the ones left behind.
Initially I thought, I would love to be remembered for a very long time, but as the moment of departure approaches I can only write something to give them hope. I would say, 'This is not the end, we shall see each other again'.
