I want you to know that I see you.
I want you to know that I see your broken heart,
And your wounded spirit;
I want you to know that I feel your pain.
You can't hide it from me because I know it too well;
Too intimately to be able to mistake it for anything other than what it is.
When I see you I feel like I'm looking into a mirror,
And it's happening all over again,
But it's not me this time....it's you.
This isn't how it's supposed to be,
This isn't supposed to happen...to anyone...ever.
My heart and flesh cry out as old wounds are reopened and the pain starts anew.
It was hard enough when it happened to me, but it's even harder seeing it happen to you.
Take my hand,
Come with me;
I won't say that I will be able to fix all your problems,
Or keep you from feeling pain,
But I will help you as best I can to bring about healing.
I know it's hard,
I know that sometimes it overwhelms you,
I know that sometimes you believe that you can't go on,
And that you feel like you are stranded in utter darkness.
Please hold on,
Wait for the sun to rise,
Give things a chance to turn around;
To change.
Take hope even in the darkest of times knowing that life is not always darkness.
