I Saw Thee In A Dream Poem by Muhammad Umair

I Saw Thee In A Dream

All I descry is a projection,
Bleamed from a great distance,
Like a shining star in the dark night;
As it appears close,
With the sweet smell of a beautiful rōse,
I see thee standing—
Hairs midnight-black,
Plunged over the shoulders,
Face a masterpiece of elegance,
Eyes shimmering like
Sapphires in the dark night,
Saccharine, sweet smile on the lips,
In the flesh, my heart gives a violent leap,
And I feel it—feel it so deep.
As I try to throw my arms
Around thee,
Thou vanish like a phantom.
Though thou comest awhile,
Thou take with thee my smile;
Even if thou appear in my dream once more,
The dream will fade away, I am sure.
