I sat by
Wished my life away
Watched the sun set
And wanted more
Than wasteful regret
Still I sat
With darkness and despair
Filtering through summer air
Twilight, golden and promising
Sinking unused
But there always new
Tomorrow awaiting
Eagerly inviting
Promising another day
Yes, another way
With eyes tuned in
Warming sun mine
Stars faithful and true
Music's magic within
All there to share
A new me to embrace
Very nice, Carol. I enjoyed your insight very much, thanks. Best, Don
Full of deep meaning - well written. Succinct and to the point. An up and coming poet laureate, a rising star. Looking forward to reading more of your poetry.

A sad yet hopeful poem. Do't we all wish our lives away in some fashion. This was a nice write and had a nice flow. I liked the tones of encouragment in the end. Well done
