I Run Poem by Amber Piercy

I Run

I Run

Prompt: A Angry Void You Created

Just an alienated outcast
That's what you've done
You couldn't let the truth stay in the past
Instead, you made me run

I run from the fear
That your mind created
I run from each tear
My soul is cremated

Risking myself against it all
Just to let you in
But, the closer I get the harder I fall
And instead I let you win

So, I run away into the night
To try to save my soul
I run away without a spotlight
Into this angry hole

Because of you I chose to run
As far away as I could
The violent tears stung
All the things that was once good

I blame you for this
You can't escape this fate
Sealed like a poisonous kiss
But sadly, it's too late
