I Promise Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

I Promise

I promise to love you with my whole heart,
And never take you for granted.
I promise that my love for you will last,
For always and forever.

I promise that I will always be faithful,
Through the end of our days.
And I promise to treat you with respect and love,
So that you can return it in kind.

I promise to listen to your dreams and fears,
And never judge or condemn.
I promise to always be supportive,
Even if I don’t agree with the end.

I promise to make you happy,
If at all within my grasp.
For you my love, my best friend,
And husband, you, are my life.

I promise to communicate,
No matter how hard or painful.
And I promise to try very hard,
In all that we do, there will be no tangles.

I promise to love you, for the rest of my life,
And give you all that I am.
And I promise that our life will be blissful,
No pain and strife.

Ms. Lindsey: This is very moving. It will require supreme effort on your part, and commensurate help from your husband, to keep these vows. Best wishes on your journey together. -G
