You knocked on my front door
I happily let you in,
We had earlier met at the department store
That moment in my life truly did begin.
You then came into my house
I of course was excited that you were there,
You weren't my girlfriend or my spouse
You were the love that I wanted as I did stare.
I was happy when you were at my side
Wherever that you and I had ever went,
You filled my soul with both honor and pride
Truly unto me you were heaven sent.
Wherever you and I would ever journey
I would always open the door for you,
You were my love in life's tourney
You always made me happy that we were two.
I was there when you were in need
My front door I would quickly and happily open,
Helping with your problems was my deed
When with your problems I was with you coping.
I opened the door to my car and to the restaurant
I would take you wherever that you needed to go,
Out to buy you clothes, or even coffee and a croissant
Or to pay the debts that you did owe.
I took you to your doctor
I held opened the door so that you could easily enter,
When you went to see your proctor
From the hurting and suffering received from a past tormentor.
I had finally reopened the door to my heart
I finally allowed another person full entry,
Unto you I would never leave, hurt or ever use or depart
Finally I thought, I didn't need a a guard or a sentry.
I still remember when you first came unto me
But, then when I came knocking at your front door,
You then told me, just to leave
You said that you didn't need or know me anymore.
