I Once Killed Someone Poem by O. A.

I Once Killed Someone

I Once Killed Someone

Of course
I was dreaming
But yes, after the heinous act
I woke up in a cold sweat, gasping
For air, in a way that made me feel
Guilty of manslaughter in the 1st degree.
Then without warning, I went to the bathroom
And washed the bloody sweat from off my forehead
And took a good long look in the cracked bathroom mirror
And realized there was a knife through my chest, near my heart
And then without warning, it vanished, as the lights were turned on
By the company I had that night, who decided to check on me here...
As she asked if I was 'alright, ' I saw the man in the mirror look at me
Like we had unfinished buisness...
Like we had unfinished buisness...
Like we had unfinished buisness...

The next morning, our company was gone
With the breaking of a newly ghosted dawn...
