I Often Wonder If We're Headed For Doom Poem by Dipy Hermonite

I Often Wonder If We're Headed For Doom

I often wonder if we're headed for doom,
When I see hatred being flung across rooms,
When Nations decide to use their great might,
To decimate those that are too small to fight,
When money is abundant for weapons of war,
But not for the millions that are starving by far,
When mothers can snuff off their progenies lives,
Where husbands can lift up their hands on their wives,
Where children are scared to touch parents who've died,
For fear of contacting the virus inside.
But then our dear Lord God showers his heavens on me,
Even strings up a rainbow for humans to see,
He points at the twinklers way up in night skies,
The fragrance of Jasmine on the moon's rise,
The mountains all golden at the rise of the sun,
The sound of birds chirping each one having fun.
My dog's trusting doe eyes,
That never show hate,
Waiting at the door step,
For me when I'm late,
The blessings of good friends,
who've ever got my back,
They're always there for me,
Their love knows no slack.
So why should I pay heed to the prophets of gloom,
When all the red roses have promised to bloom.
Wishing you a Very Happy New Year! !
