I never thought that my skin could be a hindrance to my excellence.
I never thought that my intelligence could be traced back to my inheritance.
I never thought that parenthood could so lightly be misunderstood.
I never thought that honors could be bestowed on little merit.
I never thought that human pain could be looked down upon with so much disdain.
I never thought that kids could make profitable goods for a fistful of bullets.
I never thought that martyrdom could be mistaken for freedom.
I never thought that happiness could be sought in body business.
I never thought that ignorance could be weighed so high in human balance.
I never thought that peace could be silenced in salons of politics.
I never thought that religion could beat down science in the art of persuasion.8
I never thought that angels on earth could be less revered than angels in heaven.
