I'm taking my heart off my slave
And putting it away
I'm throwing my dreams to the wind
And seeing if they fly
I'm climbing my cliff once again
I'm trying one more time
Cause maybe
You're someone who will rescue me

I'm taking my life in my hands
And wringing out the tears
I'm thinking it's time for me to dance
After all these years

Cause maybe you will rescue me

I'm crying again on the night
I feel all alone
I'm tired of trying but try as I might
I'm still all alone

But this empty shadow over my heart
Means you aren't too far

And maybe, just maybe
You will comfort me
Maybe you will see
That I need rescuing

I'm talking to myself in the mirror
Oh I'm taking my chances out in the storm
I'm hoping the skies will someday clear
And you will find your way home

I'm opening the cage that held me here
I'm turning the lighthouse on
I'm tired of crying to an empty chair
While you are lost
