sometimes poets confuse me a bit with their names. i was attracted to the name King Kong...male. then i read I Miss You by Marlyn Dori. to me Marlyn sounds like a female. oops! i'm thinking of marilyn monroe. but, what is in a name? ....so some say. i've heard of a male in u.s.a. named marlon. i seem to be getting off the track of the poem. yes, it seems that the poet misses someone a great deal. though i do not follow everything he is writing, partly perhaps due to his less-than-mine experience with english, i DO get that he MISSES! her/him. i just reread the poem and am wondering if my baby is meant to refer to a girlfriend/wife/lover/boyfriend OR if it refers to a real BABY. perhaps the speaker had a baby while in college and it died or was given up to someone else? ? ? ? there is some evidence in the poem to support my thoughts. take a look. do you agree? i don't understand the line....: Closing my eyes I can see the face I trust even more than them.....what is meant by them? ? ? but i especially enjoyed the line: ....Finally my eyes feel the emptiness and also feel the drop of tears at the edge now i don't see as much reason to mention the author's english. it is pretty good! thanks for sharing. and i don't care what your name is.
