I enjoyed this poem very much, Zaynab. It's funny and honest. I think totally get it - your soft armour!

Fear is a tool we have been given to prepare for defense or evasion, fight or flight if we perceive a threat against our selves. Fear may be rational (viper, crocodile) or irrational (frog, roach) but the physical response is the same. You have made an interesting transition from the fear of nature to the fear of man, and the protection that is afforded by your clothing. Interesting contemplation, thank you for sharing.

You are all right. You can be timid, but if you stand up for yourself in NEED, that is the right thing, because if you do not do that, people can step on you. In a way I am like that too. and I am with you.

S.Z.Kamoonpuri, I don't mind your deleting my comment. What surprised me is your rather childish outburst.I am sorry to say this.I did not taunt your phobia.I only thought you've used them as symbols, cat and veil and all. I've always felt that poets leave scope to the readers to interpret a piece of work as they see it.You and others are free to not to agree with me.I am neither biased nor jealous. But I am not a fanatic. If you are personally comfortable with using veil, it is ok.I have nothing against it.You need not gah or huh me.My mistake I interpreted your poem as a protest of crime against women because a poet do not always use the I to write about personal element. All you could have done was to say I was wrong in interpreting as you've meant it.For your information I have no conflict regarding veil and all.Anyway this site is not for mud slinging. You are welcomed to delete my comment once again. You are a brilliant poet.Wishing you all the best.

D fears of rats n roaches might b baseless but u r darnd rude to mock someone's phobias. I had a european pal who was madly scared of rats but i wasnt unpolishd to taunt her.

Well maam yor coment is d actual pathetic view, u must b a very biased person, the veil does NOT provide me or anyone with a false sense of protection, i n many veild feel d full force of its silent powers of protection. Yor views reveal some inner conflict n jealousies. Huh.
