Oh sir, I’m just a woman
How could I understand
For you are set above me
So tall and proud and grand

Great piece of work., Val. Have you ever heard Shirley Bassey singing The Living Tree?
Val, Life is so crazy. It took God or whoever so much effort to put us here that then making it temporary doesn't make much sese. Anyway it is a very short lease whether 10 years or one hundred. I just keep reminding myself that everyday is a blessing. I hope you can work your way back to a better place. Dick
Val, I have been too busy with work to spend time with poetry but I just reviewed your list amazed at the volume of poems you produce. But more importantly, I can't find one I don't like. Glad to see you are still so productive. I did finally send in a new one today. Dick
HI again Dick, thought you were off the radar! Thank you for looking in again, but I am far from productive. I no longer write, my Muse has packed her bags and left. Still in a bad place ft er losing my husband. But am pleased you have resumed, have read your latest, great as always, but do I detect a note of wistfulness. Keep well. Val
Another great write, Valerie. Humorous, yet many a true word spoken in jest. Even in this day and age women, in some cultures, are still looked upon as second class citizens.
Perhaps to true in to much of this world. Please check my response Which I am posting today. You have a very telling write, worth our attention
A farce to the male counterpart who thinks inferior to the women your call a feminism this the right a bold message in the form of poem with a farce thank u
GREAT! ! Val, did you write this or did Margaret Thacher? Just saw the film on her life, she Was as strong as the woman who wrote this poem. It was just greeat. Especially the last line You know what you can do Absolutely shocking to men's petty egos
Hello Val, ha I love this and the strong message it contains....
This is why I am married to my ship. Never a question who is in charge......Cur Don't worry Val, Captain knows I am in charge, just to proud to admit it. Pirate Girl
great poem dear Valerie.i think its not for the fun.that s a truth.women deserve to stand even higher than men.they can be like ISIS. the world dont forget those great women like Marie Curie or... maybe its not accepted in some old traditional culturs or religions but i think God has created all people equally. this poem is a contrast of silhouette dismay in chauvinist societies.~nb
Depending on which part of the world we may live this poem has much truth and value, male chauvinism once in fashion, now I see on the decline, at least where I live. Well written and the point well taken, even if it was for fun.....
A bitter truth, we are made feel like this but I believe woman is wonderful creature on her own without being comapred to man. a good read
i love this, any man who believe women are beneath them are not real men, a lovely piece
Though you say it's just for fun, you have revealed a great truth and the way the poem is composed, hats off to you, Valerie!
It's a tragedy, that still women have to stay in this male-dominated world and have to claim for their right..I can just say- - -How long O Lord, how long? Wonderful poem Val, well-constructed, nicely rhymed, powerfully woven with the thought.
Wow Valerie, Truly Amazing. You show full strength in this one and how we women admire You
It is really a beautiful poem regarding women's lib with great feeling and fun. The collocation you have penned is so touching and incisive. I appreciate the way of presentation of this poem. Thank you dear madam for sharing this gem with us. Full vote. It is on my poem list.
