Education, wealth, rich condition, aristocratic life; elite class... etc is not the measure pole of true civilization; Civilization is the name of humane consciense where love, sympathy, unity, friendship...all goodness of mind are hidden gracefully

The world resounds to National self belief and this can be dangerous. Only by understanding other cultures can we free ourselves from that narrowness. Yes, I really like this poem, Mahtab.

Really a great satire. One, civil is civilized till he is caught and called otherwise. If everyone is asked this question in the world, there would be no one not so.

Your poem efficiently peels of the labels, status and fame under the umbrella of hypocrisy with dripping sarcasm.

It is completely based on self analysis and introspection to declare I am the civilized for anybody regarding honesty, humanitarianism and righteousness of oneself...you have very well thought on this theme and have presented a great poem...thanks with a 100 for your effort

You make some telling points about imperialism and colonialism, both still forces in the modern world, although they were more prevalent in the 19th.,20th. centuries. It is interesting to realize how important being 'civilized' is. A just society would be impossible without it.

A very astute comment on Jack Kerouac's poem. All the different people you mention are civilized, although you imply that some may not be. Intriguing.
