Too many times, we leave things until later
Sometimes later never comes and the moments are lost
We never get the chance to say the most important things
That is to say, I loved you and goodbye

my sympathy 2 u..................but this goodbye has made your uncle' beloved'.... .........................loved for ever...
We always think we have forever to say what's important to those we care about. So often, they move on, and we are left to mourn our shortcomings. Always let people know exactly how you feel, then they can never say they didn't know, and you can live with yourself. Sad but beautiful sentiment, David. Linda
My dear David, this is so true, I'am one of those that never got around to saying those words to family and to dear friends. I see that I must change my ways and open my mouth and actually say those beautiful words to those I care about before it's too late, before a time comes when I can no longer speak or write. We're here today and gone tomorrow, gone not necessarily meaning dead, it could mean being incapacitated in some way. Why take the chance though, tell everyone you care about, you love them. Thankyou David for these wonderful words, I will act on them right away. ---Melvina---
hey david, I love this poem. it makes you appreciatemwhat you have and makes you realize what is important in life.family. I send you my deepest condolences. I give this a 10.
You may have already realised David, that I am a man who generally uses few words, but even so, this paints so many fine and loyal words, all on its own A solid piece, pieced together with compassion, the type that finds itself easily to the heart All the best David, Love duncan X
You've written a beautiful and moving tribute here....Endings can come suddenly, reminding us of a simple fact, and that is, how many have such deep loss from rejection or rejecting or just not allowing themselves to feel........that often life will end as they know it and they will have never said 'I LOVE YOU.' those three little words that one may have so wanted to know and so despertly needed to hear...three little words that might at one time have 'saved someone's life.....mm.
Very true, David. And you have paid a fitting tribute to your uncle by remembering him in this poem. Remembering some one who has passed over is the greatest gift you can give them. Love, Fran xxx
A hereafter would be a wonderful thing - apologies would be flowing every which way I have no doubt - and I would be at the front of the queue handing them out - but, for a convinced atheist that clearly doesn't look likely. Which means that time in the hard and potentially wonderful here and now is what counts, and yet knowing/believing that, I continue to repeatedly make this mistake. This one hit where it hurts. A fine reminder as Tara says. Very movingly penned and very wise. jim
Really good its sad, sweet and good all at the same time but good isnt the word the word i should use is great..cause it is...and it is true every word that you put into it.........I LOVED IT
Its never to late to say to say i loved you and goodbye, don`t you understand they are watching up high... David wonderful poem...10
David, sympathy to you for your uncle. The poem: yes indeed. Three mantras; carpe diem, never go to bed on an argument, and tell those who love that you love them... thank you for the reminder (since I consistently forget) , flowingly penned. t x
This is so true, it is to easy to take time for granted, then before you know it its passed. But he knows how you feel, whether or not you got the chance to tell him. Very touching poem.
how beautiful and how so sad and true. thank you.
