I had some trouble with this, with some of the words, partly because there are several I’m not too familiar with and don’t use in my speech, and partly because some, like many words, have multiple shades of meaning. [quintessence; ambiance; surreal; euphoric] [one of the synonyms of euphoric IS “blissful”, so “euphoric bliss” can be “blissful bliss”. ok. poetic license is granted. another poet I like on PH does the same thing sometimes, I think.] [ I also had to check on the difference between “ocean” and “sea”. OK.] [ I never tried to increase my vocabulary after English teachers stopped assigning vocabulary words to learn! ! ! of course I HAVE learned a few more words SINCE then. (most of them “BAD words” heh heh) ] [ “only you holds the key” ….. I’ve heard people use “holds” or some other such “s”-ending verb where I would use “hold” etc. it may be (a) vernacular; how is “vernacular” for a vocabulary word! ? ] BUT you made the point I think you meant to make: the speaker LOVES him/her and hopes the relationship between them will prosper. my favorite lines: “Stars will never disappear, no they multiply in mass. My love for you resembles that monumental view, for all who gaze upon us will stand in awe, of me…of you.” … …… …....i don’t think I ever had THAT happen in one of my relationships! I KNOW it never happened! ! ! this poem goes into my/our August showcase on my PH site. Thanks for sharing. bri :)
