Well, paint me green with envy. This is superb writing- -it has depths that the reader is compelled to pause and plumb, it has images that shake the reader to the core, it takes a strong take-no-prisoner stance. A thousand 10's could not rate it high enough. Putting this poem on my fav list so that I will read it again and again. Thank you for posting this so we could enjoy superlative writing.
Thank you much, Susan. You are as passionate about poetry as I am, and, I suppose, as most people here are. That’s a great thing. I find most people are quite passionate about the wrong things: their football teams, their flags, their little screen idols, etc., and not passionate enough about things like the beauty of language, ideas, the infinite possibilities of Life with capital L, etc. Great to see the kind of company I’m keeping here!
