It's true that strangers (like me) don't care. I mean, we can pretend to care, but we're strangers. Poetry can't save you from loneliness or emptiness, and often intensifies the feeling and problem. Bit it was never supposed to be about rewardiung the writer. It is a way of growing mentally and emotionally. Loneliness continues, but wisdom creeps in. Meanwhile, there are real bipedal people walking by you everyday. Don't let 'being a poet' estrange you from them. See them, sympathize with them. Be a godmother to the weird - they need love so much. Be a poet who helps them - save them with your inner light - or just be a friend. Sorry to preach - I just see a lot of me in you, and it took me so very long to lose the necessary IQ points to be a little bit happy.
i sorta know how u feel, like the person(s) i want to read my poetry and really care about it don't, but i think poems are a good way to vent and get across how u feel
