I Live On Poem by Prabalta Rijal

I Live On

Rating: 5.0

My dusk is your dawn
My end is your beginning
I havent left you my child
just merely shifted forms

Cry not for me
fore my time has come
mourn not for me
fore I live on
have just merely shifted forms

Look within you my child
fore that's where I live
Smile, my child
fore I've merely shifted forms

Don't wander off in search of joy
fore it is within you
you have not lost me my child
fore I live on, within you

Cry not my child
fore my dusk is your dawn

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was written in 2010, at the hosiptal, before going into labour, it had been over two hours since my water broke, but I had not gone into labour and the doctor's kept postponing my operation, as they thought that natural birth would be possible. It was at this time while I lay on the hospital bed that day I kept worrying about if I would die, if I would get to see my child. I wrote these lines down on my mobile phone, I was scared I knew something was terribly wrong, I wanted to see my child, but wasnt sure I would make it.
