A very thought provoking poem, the great poetess let the reader oft thinks a bit more in almost all her poems, that makes her poems so attractive and very impressive. Two final lines in the last stanza: Tune is heard on the distant hill For the caged bird sings of freedom......yess! The caged bird sings of freedom, this line says a very lot about her life in the USA and that of her groups'life.Since the death of Floyd important things have changed.
come come to the earth make the man and woman free make the human minds make the wings of minds free like the flying birds and sing the songs of happiness
fields after a lot of fields forest after a lot of forests Full of free sky over there wings, wings of the birds know only to fly fly, fly more high independently eat, drink and fly fly high the free birds no sad in free mind know only to fly, fly high over the sky but the caged wings the caged birds the jailed minds can't, can't fly independently so, sad in mind can't speak freely to the sky that's why sing lonely the song of dirge
The caged bird sings with a fearful trill Of things unknown but longed for still ........ The free bird thinks of another breeze And the trade winds soft through The sighing trees......great poetic expression about the caged bird and free bird
Tune is heard on the distant hill For the caged bird sings of freedom. We can still hear the song of the caged bird
But a caged BIRD stands on the grave of dreams His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream His wings are clipped and his feet are tied So he opens his throat to sing. On the grave of dreams stands the big bird..... the whole poem makes us think a lot. tony
The caged bird sings with A fearful trill of things unknown But longed for still and his Tune is heard on the distant hill For the caged bird sings of freedom. The songs of the caged bird is so painful. tony
in this poem the poet clearly describe about a free bird and a caged bird. The free bird symbolize white people.and caged bird represent black people.this poem gives very powerful examples to express the social conflit between innocent native black people and selfish white people who steals all the resources o native black people who lived in America.
It’s great it’s the best poem I ever read it’s so real it’s like I can inmagine it in my head
The free bird thinks of another breeze And the trade winds soft through The sighing trees And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright Lawn and he names the sky his own. But a caged BIRD stands on the grave of dreams His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream His wings are clipped and his feet are tied So he opens his throat to sing. great great great 10++++++++++++++++++++
It seems, so often, we humans, can only be happy when some other creature, sentient or not, is unhappy. This was the first time I've read this, and it moves me to tears.
praises fall short for her.such a powerful and vivid mind she has!
A powerful poem for those without a voice, including children. The poem has universal appeal and is as relevant today in 2024 as it was when Maya Angelou wrote it.
