I Knelt Down Poem by Phil Soar

I Knelt Down

I knelt down in the garden
To tend my shrubs and plants
To search for brand new growth
And watch the tulips dance

The breeze catches their beauty
And wafts their scent around
While I tend to the newest plants
That surface from the ground

I stop to watch the insects
As they scurry to and from
They take what they need, from each new seed
And very soon are gone

And when my frame begins to creek
And my knees begin to ache
I reach for somethng I enjoy
A cup of tea and a cake
