I Imagine You Falling Asleep Poem by Rae Seagull

I Imagine You Falling Asleep

I imagine you falling asleep
Laying your head down
At first, thinking, then drifting off
Lying still with your eyes shut
A slight smile on your face
Dreaming dreams
That one day may come true...
What if they don't?
But you have no doubt whatsoever
That they will
Who can keep us away
When our sole existence is for the other?
Our lives are entwined
Our hearts beat synchronously
Our breaths are one...
My eyes shut too
And I start dreaming of you...
