I Have Two Faces Poem by Raj Dronamraju

I Have Two Faces

I have two faces, I can only show you one
And the face I cannot show increasingly calls the tune

I blurt out nomad statements
When what I really wanted was not to be alone

I have two faces, I can only show you one
I am fearful of you not understanding my complexity

Others might judge a contrary nature
Without recognizing there are two players there

She has two faces, you fear both
She cleaves the night ski with her lies and ingénue

I have two faces, I can only show you one
Fear and shame create a livable atmosphere

The day I tear down the safe face and show what's underneath
Is the day you feel sick to your stomach

I have two faces, I can only show you one
Self-pillory on a Saturday morning, stay up all night Saturday evening
