They're loud, and they're crude.

'After all, we have both fiction and non-fiction, do we not? ' - Yes we do! Loved your reply to my comment.

Thanks, Khairul. We poets have an amazing ability to create just the right blend of reality and fiction, until the desired poem results. That's part of the fun of being a poet! :)

I had similar neighbours when living in Auckland in blocks of flats with limited privacy. I agree with all your comments about noisy neighbours, who nearly drive you to the wall. A fine poem indeed-authentic.

Thank-you, Michael. Since this is the first time I've ever rec'd a comment from you, I went on a poet search and typed in Michael Walker. There are TWO Michael Walkers, and the other one is a Level 3, living in Omaha, Nebraska, age 27. I wasn't sure which one of you guys it was, but when you mentioned Auckland, that was a dead giveaway! Thanks for sharing and commenting! :)

It's relieving to know from a reply of yours to a comment below that your neighbors were 'not really quite that bad'. However, the exaggeration has added to the adverse feelings on such rowdy neighbors that the poem evokes in the readers' minds.

Thank you for your most insightful comment, Khairul! I perceive that you bstudy poetry carefully! The beauty of writing, is that you can embellish (or exaggerate!) as needed, for effect. After all, we have both fiction and non-fiction, do we not?

I lived in a place like that once. probably most of us have had this experience. That makes it a good poem.I moved as soon as I could.

Thanks again, Barry. This was slightly exaggerated for effect. They're not really quite that bad. I just drown them out with my music! :)

You summed it up so poetically and so true. I spent 30 years in NYC bombarded by noise from neighbors. finally left everything behind the only way to preserve your sanity very nice writing

Thank-you, Hobbler. Does this mean we're fast becoming friends?
