There's a quirkiness about your Mars line that is rather fun - and the general thrust of this poem is great, particularly the last couplet. Incidentally - I think you mean 'patience' in line nine. Also, if you want to write traditional (rhyming) poetry, it's important to learn about scansion (the rhythm of the piece) . There's a really good book called The Ode Less Traveled by Stephen Fry you might like to check out. It's highly amusing, but also filled with very useful information for any budding poet.
