I too think it is important to enjoy your art for what it is. Thank you for putting that so simply and clearly. Not so sure about changing it.

Work without love is slavery these words bring to mind what the lebanese poet Kahlil Gibran said about work, saying if you whhere unable to work with love it would be wiser to live of charity, cause if a baker bakes a bread hating what he does his hatred will poison the bread. Yes self-esteem is essential for creation. Study by ourselves is the best study and we need not be distracted by studying others' works. More knowledge always is hindrance to creation and self-expression. Self-expression is natural, intuitive and natural. Nice verse.
