who was sitting alone on the banks of the Nile,
mooning over the premature decease of his beautiful wife.

I feel emancipated by this wonderful poem and tend to imagine how your love consummate in the sensual inevitablility…I imagine you enjoying the conjuring conjugal pleasures with your beloved….

A frog sitting alone on the bank of Nile. He lost his love too and his thoughts are inked with your embracing pen. Beautiful sketch on the tragedy of life. Thanks for sharing. Regards.

An insightful metaphoric piece of poetry elegantly brought forth in good diction with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Sofia.

A frog who lost his love can always go back to his waters. Where do we go? Human beings, often, are drowned in the pool of their own sorrow, the ocean of their own tears. As a Malayalam poet has written, for us A teardrop is an ocean! Nice poem. Thank you for sharing.

I instantly knew he was the find of my ultimate search for love. A bathos unknown to those seeking earthly pleasures, a poignancy knocking vulgarity off its temporal pedestal. Nice lines., it was enjoyable. Thanks for the poem. Subhas

The metaphor in your poem in a sarcastic yet carefully chosen words in a articulate manner is AMUSING. To fall in love and to rise in life you need courage, determination, dedication and perseverance and who can be a better companion in life than the self, image and jumping jack.....Superb, all my superlatives will exhaust...A perfect 10 +++ for this thoughtful poem. Loved it...

After reading the first three lines, who in the world would not continue to read? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Perfect opening hook. The word choices are perfect- -mooning, premature decease. Now hopping to the next lily pad, [excuse me, I meant to say moving along to the next three lines], you had me convulsing too- -loved your stealth humor, it's better than any stealth bomber! . Absolutely loved this poem, Sofia, and the imagination behind it would make Lewis Carroll jealous! ! !

I came across this unique poem of yours. It is so deep! 'his chin atremble, the words buried in a raven black but deafening silence' - is an expression that I liked immensely. The poem is empathetic to despondent and mourning lives in distress, human, animals, reptiles, insects, all inclusive. The frog is but a metaphor. Your 'love' for the frog is your compassion for life. Appreciate this beautiful poem beyond measure. I like to mention here that I liked most of the comments below and regret that the comment of 'Fog Runner, a nice one, has gone unanswered, unlike those of others.

For me the most charming aspect of this is that you desired to deliver, through your deeply feminine affection, the broken man from his mental torment. How very fortunate he must have been (God smiled on him that day) .

I've read this poem several times in the last few days. Sofia. The line 'his chin atremble, the words buried in a raven black but deafening silence.' Is particularly excellent. I'm still pondering the symbolism. It has a surface meaning which goes much deeper than even you might not be aware of.10/10

A relationship that is developed by feeling each other's pains is even stronger than love and when a poet feels it he is inspired to write such a beautiful poem like this.
