Wow! This poem is unique. Very different from what I'm accustomed to reading. Yet, it has the same positive and pleasurable result. Beautifully expressed!

Children suffer the most when parents get separated. They are not to judge who is right and who is wrong but what they miss is their love and care. A nice poem on the suffering of a teenager. Loved it. Congrats.

A poem that touches a deep cord, so touchingly presented here. It deserves to be a POD.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. My son is 25 now and he is doing well. It has been 13 years ago since his dad and I separated so we had lots of time to heal. :)

2) to whom do they belong? IF I may say, dear Katinka, you are a strong person. Very touching poem, excellently worded. Even your son is 18, but he was 12 when that separation occurred. (I am reading between the lines) From the OUTSIDE he is strong, but from his inside...? Your brilliant first and second stanza say it all. Thank you for sharing. CONGRATULATIONS being chosen as The Member Poem Of The Day for the second X

It sounds as though it's not only your son's pain, but your own separate pain, as well. Hope you received notification that you were selected for Member Poem of the Day, and congratulations, Katinka! : -)

How a relation ship of parents affects a child and what a mother should teach to her child, nicely narrated. Congrats! The poem is good enough to be selected as members' poem.

I'm so sorry everyone, my email has put everything from poemhunter in my spam box and I didn't even see it was poem of the day! Twice? Seriously? I'm so touched by all the comments. Thank you all so much for your kindness. Thankfully my son (who is 24 now) is doing much better. Thank you all for your love!

For the third day in a row, Poem Hunter has allowed their computers to select the same member poem of the day as was presented last year. This is absolute laziness on the part of the PH administrators.

ONE: Still a very touching poem, whenever I read this again, my eyes get moist again, must I admit, Katinka. CONGRATULATIONS as Member Poem Of The Day. A 10+++++ for the vote. I tell you here, just to you, that my poem Grow Old With You? was The Poem of The Day yesterday, the 20th 2018 and that poem I wrote on the 20th Sep 7 years ago (in 2011) was chosen as Poem Of The Day. I am very excited now.
