Wow! This poem is unique. Very different from what I'm accustomed to reading. Yet, it has the same positive and pleasurable result. Beautifully expressed!
Children suffer the most when parents get separated. They are not to judge who is right and who is wrong but what they miss is their love and care. A nice poem on the suffering of a teenager. Loved it. Congrats.
A poem that touches a deep cord, so touchingly presented here. It deserves to be a POD.
A brilliant poem on feeling has been astutely delineated. Thanks and congratulations for being selected this poem as the member poem of POD. for second time.
Well expressed thoughts and feelings..............................................................................................
I feel your pain It must hurt Even after six years That your mum and dad Don't even like each other anymore.. the struggle of the 18 year old....... very well portrayed. such things happen almost everyday especially in a society where morals have no value. tony
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. My son is 25 now and he is doing well. It has been 13 years ago since his dad and I separated so we had lots of time to heal. :)
I am glad to find this beautiful poem being displayed as poem of the day for the second time! Many congratulations! !
2) to whom do they belong? IF I may say, dear Katinka, you are a strong person. Very touching poem, excellently worded. Even your son is 18, but he was 12 when that separation occurred. (I am reading between the lines) From the OUTSIDE he is strong, but from his inside...? Your brilliant first and second stanza say it all. Thank you for sharing. CONGRATULATIONS being chosen as The Member Poem Of The Day for the second X
It sounds as though it's not only your son's pain, but your own separate pain, as well. Hope you received notification that you were selected for Member Poem of the Day, and congratulations, Katinka! : -)
How a relation ship of parents affects a child and what a mother should teach to her child, nicely narrated. Congrats! The poem is good enough to be selected as members' poem.
I'm so sorry everyone, my email has put everything from poemhunter in my spam box and I didn't even see it was poem of the day! Twice? Seriously? I'm so touched by all the comments. Thank you all so much for your kindness. Thankfully my son (who is 24 now) is doing much better. Thank you all for your love!
The harshness of life seen from close quarters. How sad and challenging. Thanks and Congrats.
Congratulations for this beautiful poem being chosen as POD!
Very touching. When parents get separated the children suffer a lot. A very nice poem indeed. Congrats on being chosen as the poem of the day.
For the third day in a row, Poem Hunter has allowed their computers to select the same member poem of the day as was presented last year. This is absolute laziness on the part of the PH administrators.
TWO: This means so much to me personally. Keep on creating, dear poetess. Last year same date, your poem was chosen the day after mine too was chosen, the title I have mentioned here above. You can see my congratulations from last year too.. GBU grandest, Katinka. Best regards from Sylvia Frances Chan, poetess Friday the 21 Sep 2018 - 8.50 hrs AM West-European Time. I am truly happy for you, dear poetess, I confess.
ONE: Still a very touching poem, whenever I read this again, my eyes get moist again, must I admit, Katinka. CONGRATULATIONS as Member Poem Of The Day. A 10+++++ for the vote. I tell you here, just to you, that my poem Grow Old With You? was The Poem of The Day yesterday, the 20th 2018 and that poem I wrote on the 20th Sep 7 years ago (in 2011) was chosen as Poem Of The Day. I am very excited now.
I Feel Your Pain a sympathetic poem; beautifully penned, thanks for sharing and congrats for being selected this poem as POD
