I Don't Want To Float Through Space Poem by Melinda Naylor

I Don't Want To Float Through Space

Little Astronaut floating through space
Every small breath taken
Every movement

Everything you see while your in space
So breathtaking the little astronaut could cry

I see the world like if I was just that little astronaut
Even though I'm not seeing earth from another point of view
Or hopeful like this little astronaut that space would be beautiful

I see it as if I never seen it before
Because I feel like I don't believe in anything nor myself
Or even try to hype myself up even if I have seen that same thing
I'll float in the depths of the cold lonely space with my suit on

And die feeling like I was hopeless because I didn't try
And wandering aimlessly being paralyses
knowing they will never find my floating little cold corpse
