I tried to say, “I’m sorry, ”
The words would not come out;
It’s not that I don’t think I’m wrong,
Of that there is no doubt.
A difference of opinion
We just could not agree;
Foolish pride and hurtful words
Between us, don’t you see?
I didn’t mean to hurt you,
You mean the world to me;
If I could cancel yesterday
I’d do so happily.
If I could give a smile to you
As my apology,
I’d gladly face you with a grin,
My gift to you from me.

Gail, a sincere smile or gesture can mean so much more than words. Excellent write! Brian
